Change in Ministry

For the past few years, along with my responsibilities of pastoring, I have been involved with Native American Ministries (NAM) of Evangelism Missions Inc (EMI). I have served as the field director of Native American Ministries, assisting the missionaries of NAM of EMI who are serving among Native Americans. I first became acquainted with the great need among Native Americans several years ago and as the years have passed my burden for reaching Native Americans has only increased. As my burden increased, my involvement has increased as well. After much prayer I have made the decision that this is where God has called me. On May 25th, I submitted my resignation as pastor of Temple Baptist Church, where I have served as pastor for the past 22 years, to serve full-time in reaching Native Americans for Christ.

The ministry of the Living Word will not change. I will continue to maintain the web site, as I have done so for all these years, as well as the Subscribers Section. I will continue posting new sermons each week in the Subscribers Section as in the past, as well as continuing to add new book studies to the areas of the site that are available to all who visit the Living Word web site. The Living Word has been a personal ministry of mine since the beginning and I will continue it make it available.

I covet your prayers as I began this new chapter in my life. I ask you to pray for me in the following areas:

1) I ask you to pray for Native Americans. Until a few years ago I never realized the great spiritual need that exists among them. My heart was broken (and gripped) when I was introduced to their needs, and I have been consumed with reaching them for Christ since then. Please pray that we can reach many Native Americans with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The first Americans must not be the last to hear. .

2) I ask you to pray for my work among Native Americans. My goal and ministry will be to start Churches on as many Native American Reservations as possible. We presently have missionaries and Churches working among the Jicarilla and Mescalero Apaches in New Mexico, and the Shoshone and Arapaho of Wyoming. There are 300 Reservations in the U.S. and many are without a gospel witness. I will be working to make the spiritual needs of Native Americans known, believing God to call workers into this needy work, so that we can start Churches on other reservations.

3) I am stepping out by faith to enter this ministry. I will need Churches to take me on for monthly support as a missionary serving with Native American Ministries of Evangelism Missions. I would like to ask you to pray about adding me as one of your missionaries.

Beginning in September I will be available for special services on Sunday, Wednesday, Mission Conferences, Bible Conferences, revivals, etc. It would be a honor to be with you. If you would like for me to be with you for a service or special meeting, or to learn more about Native American Ministries, or be added to our newsletter that will keep you informed of the work being done, drop me an email with your email address or regular mailing address. I will be taking groups of pastors to the reservations on special trips and it would be a joy to have you go with me.

I am excited about what God is going to do. Again, I covet your prayers as I follow God's call. It is my prayer and greatest desire to take many Native Americans with me to heaven one day.
